Entrevista al maestro Claudio Arrau

This is an interview to Claudio Arrau, the greatest Chilean piano performer. I would like to write a translation to this for a friend in United Kingdom. My English is only intermediate (and a little more) yet, not advanced, so I hope that you can check the text for grammatical mistakes.

IM: How is that memory for you?

CA: Well, I don’t remember a lot of that period. It was very difficult specially because the requirements for a teenager performer were high. We had to play a sequence of the most difficult Liszt’s opus as the “Transcendental Studios” and some of the “Opera and Lieder transcriptions”; in the end for me it was naturally a big satisfaction and in a critical moment of my life it gave to me a special strength

IL: How much from Chillán (his birth city) is there in your memory and how much from Chillán is there in your heart?

CA: in my heart a lot of, in my memory a little; because it has been so many years and I have lived too many experiences in many countries in the world that something is confuse in my mind; namely the nearness of Chillán city, but I have always felt too much acknowledgment because of all the work for enthuse my mother for try to carry me to Santiago and then try to do something for carry me to Europe and then to develop my studies there.

IL: Her mother, mistress Lucresia it was a quite importante person in your life, and………..
